Geography
Tampines District is located approximately 11km east of the City in the East Sub-Region, East Region.

Tampines District is bounded by Sungei Serangoon, Tampines Road, the eastern perimeter of Paya Lebar Air Base and the eastern perimeter of SAF Driving Circuit to the west; Bartley Road East, Tampines Avenue 10, Sungei Bedok, Pan Island Expressway (PIE), Simei Avenue and Upper Changi Road East to the south; Jalan Tiga Ratus and East View Garden Estate to the east; and Tampines Expressway (TPE) to the north.

Tampines District covers an area of approximately 1,876 hectares, ranking 12th among the 27 districts. Tampines District housed an estimated population of 315,658 residents as of June 2017, ranking 4th among the 27 districts. Tampines District has a population density of 16,823/km².

Division
Tampines District comprises 1 New Town (Tampines New Town), 1 Estate (Simei Estate) and 1 Sub-District (Tampines Rural Sub-District).

Tampines New Town is divided into 9 neighbourhoods, namely Tampines Neighbourhood 1, Tampines Neighbourhood 2, Tampines Neighbourhood 3, Tampines Neighbourhood 4, Tampines Neighbourhood 5, Tampines Neighbourhood 6, Tampines Neighbourhood 7, Tampines Neighbourhood 8 and Tampines Neighbourhood 9.

Simei Estate contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely Simei Neighbourhood 1, Simei Neighbourhood 2 and Soo Bee.

Tampines Rural Sub-District contains 7 neighbourhoods, namely Tampines Quarry, Tampines Industrial, Tampines Industrial North, Tampines Road 9th Mile, Teban, Tampines Logistic Park and Fish Farm.

In total, Tampines District is sub-divided into 19 neighbourhoods.
