Geography
Ang Mo Kio District is located approximately 11km north of the City in the Central North Sub-Region, North Region.

Ang Mo Kio District is bounded by Old Upper Thomson Road to the west; Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 to the south; Central Expressway (CTE), Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, Sungei Tongkang, Serangoon North Avenue 6, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Sungei Tongkang to the east; Buangkok Drive, Yio Chu Kang Road and Seletar Expressway (SLE) to the north.

Ang Mo Kio District covers an area of approximately 1,753 hectares, ranking 14th among the 27 districts. Ang Mo Kio District housed an estimated population of 235,553 residents as of June 2017, ranking 9th among the 27 districts. Ang Mo Kio District has a population density of 13,438/km².

Division
Ang Mo Kio District comprises 1 New Town (Ang Mo Kio New Town) and 4 Estates (Kebun Baru Estate, Lentor Estate, Yio Chu Kang Estate and Seletar Hills Estate).

Ang Mo Kio New Town is divided into 7 neighbourhoods, namely Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 1, Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 2, Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 3, Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 4, Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 5, Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 6 and Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood 7.

Kebun Baru Estate contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely Sembawang Hills, Thomson Green and Old Upper Thomson.

Lentor Estate contains 4 neighbourhoods, namely Teachers' Estate, Lentor, Lentor Central and Raintree Valley.

Yio Chu Kang Estate contains 4 neighbourhoods, namely Yio Chu Kang, Amoy Quee, Cheng San and Yio Chu Kang North.

Seletar Hills Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Seletar Hills East and Seletar Hills West.

In total, Ang Mo Kio District is sub-divided into 20 neighbourhoods.
