Geography
Novena District is located approximately 3km north of the City in the Central North Sub-Region, North Region.

Novena District is bounded by the eastern perimeter of the Central Water Catchment, Thomson Road and Jalan Toa Payoh (PIE) to the northeast; Serangoon Road, Balestier Road, Tessensohn Road and Race Course Road to the southeast; Hampshire Road, Kampong Java Road, Bukit Timah Road, Chancery Lane, Mount Rosie Road, Malcolm Road, Whitley Road (PIE), Pan Island Expressway (PIE), Adam Road, Sime Road and Pan Island Expressway (PIE) to the southwest; the northern watershed of Macritchie Reservoir to the northwest.

Novena District covers an area of approximately 1,559 hectares, ranking 16th among the 27 districts. Novena District housed an estimated population of 112,737 residents as of June 2017, ranking 23th among the 27 districts. Novena District has a population density of 7,229/km².

Novena District comprises 12 Estates (St Michael's Estate, Whampoa Estate, St George's Estate, Towner Estate, McNair Estate, Balestier Estate, Farrer Park Estate, Kampong Java Estate, Novena Estate, Chancery Estate, Lornie Estate and Caldecott Estate) and 1 Sub-District (Bukit Brown Rural Sub-District).

St Michael's Estate contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely St Michael's, Tenteram and Rajah.

Whampoa Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Whampoa).

St George's Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (St George's).

Towner Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Towner).

McNair Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (McNair).

Balestier Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Balestier).

Farrer Park Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Farrer Park and Rangoon.

Kampong Java Estate 3 neighbourhoods, namely Kampong Java, Pek Kio and Moulmein.

Novena Estate contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely Novena Fringe Centre, Tan Tock Seng and Goldhill.

Chancery Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Chancery and Chancery Hill.

Lornie Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Lornie).

Caldecott Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Caldecott).

Bukit Brown Sub-District contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely Whitley, Mount Pleasant and Bukit Brown.

Novena District also includes 1 Park (Macritchie Reservoir).

In total, Novena District is sub-divided into 24 neighbourhoods.
