Geography
Sembawang District is located approximately 17km north of the City in the North Sub-Region, North Region.

Sembawang District is bounded by Sungei Simpang Kiri and Sembawang Road to the east; Mandai Avenue and Mandai Road to the south; Jalan Ulu Sembawang, Woodlands Avenue 12, Woodlands Avenue 10, Admiralty Road West, Sungei Sembawang Kechil, Woodlands Avenue 8, Admiralty Road West and Attap Valley Road to the west; Selat Johor to the north.

Sembawang District covers an area of approximately 1,985 hectares, ranking 11th among the 27 districts. Sembawang District housed an estimated population of 119,333 residents as of June 2017, ranking 22th among the 27 districts. Sembawang District has a population density of 6,011/km².

Division
Sembawang District comprises 1 New Town (Sembawang New Town) and 6 Estates (Mata Ayer Estate, Sembawang Springs Estate, Sembawang Straits Estate, Naval Base Estate, Senoko Industrial Estate and Ulu Sembawang Farm).

Sembawang New Town is divided into 6 neighbourhoods, namely Sembawang Neighbourhood 1, Sembawang Neighbourhood 2, Sembawang Neighbourhood 3, Sembawang Neighbourhood 4, Sembawang Neighbourhood 5 and Sembawang Neighbourhood 6.

Mata Ayer Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Mata Ayer).

Sembawang Springs Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Sembawang Springs).

Sembawang Straits Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Sembawang Straits).

Naval Base Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Naval Base).

Senoko Industrial Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Senoko Industrial).

Ulu Sembawang Farm contains 1 neighbourhood (Ulu Sembawang Farm).

Sembawang District also includes 2 Infrastructures, namely Sembawang Wharves and Sembawang Air Base.
