Geography
Sengkang District is located approximately 13km northeast of the City in the Northeast Sub-Region, East Region.

Sengkang District is bounded by Buangkok Drive and Yio Chu Kang Road to the south; Seletar Expressway (SLE) to the west; Tampines Expressway (TPE) to the north; and Sungei Serangoon to the east.

Sengkang District covers an area of approximately 975 hectares, ranking 21th among the 27 districts. Sengkang District housed an estimated population of 265,758 residents as of June 2017, ranking 7th among the 27 districts. Sengkang District has a population density of 27,251/km².

Division
Sengkang District comprises 1 New Town (Sengkang New Town) and 1 Sub-District (Jalan Kayu Sub-District).

Sengkang New Town is divided into 10 neighbourhoods, namely Sengkang Neighbourhood 1 South, Sengkang Neighbourhood 1 North, Sengkang Neighbourhood 2 Central, Sengkang Neighbourhood 2 North, Sengkang Neighbourhood 2 Buangkok, Sengkang Neighbourhood 3 South, Sengkang Neighbourhood 3 North, Sengkang Neighbourhood 3 Industrial, Sengkang Neighbourhood 4 South and Sengkang Neighbourhood 4 North.

Jalan Kayu Sub-District contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Jalan Kayu Estate and Seletar West Farm.

In total, Sengkang District is sub-divided into 12 neighbourhoods.
