Geography
Toa Payoh District is located approximately 6km north of the City in the Central North Sub-Region, North Region.

Toa Payoh District is bounded by Thomson Road to the west; Braddell Road and Bartley Road to the north; Upper Paya Lebar Road to the east; Macpherson Road and Jalan Toa Payoh (PIE) to the south.

Toa Payoh District covers an area of approximately 825 hectares, ranking 23th among the 27 districts. Toa Payoh District housed an estimated population of 167,743 residents as of June 2017, ranking 15th among the 27 districts. Toa Payoh District has a population density of 20,335/km².

Division
Toa Payoh District comprises 1 New Town (Toa Payoh New Town) and 1 Sub-District (Potong Pasir Sub-District).

Toa Payoh New Town is divided into 9 neighbourhoods, namely Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 1, Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 2, Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 3, Toa Payoh Central, Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 4, Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 5, Toa Payoh Neighbourhood 6, Toa Payoh West and Braddell.

Potong Pasir Sub-District contains 5 estates, namely Potong Pasir Estate, Sennett Estate, Woodleigh Estate, Bidadari Estate and Upper Aljunied Estate.

Potong Pasir Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Potong Pasir).

Sennett Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Sennett).

Woodleigh Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Woodleigh).

Bidadari Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Bidadari).

Upper Aljunied Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Upper Aljunied).

In total, Toa Payoh District is sub-divided into 14 neighbourhoods.
