Geography
Yishun District is located approximately 14km north of the City in the North Sub-Region, North Region.

Yishun District is bounded by Sungei Simpang Kiri to the north; Sembawang Road, Mandai Avenue and Seletar Expressway (SLE) to the west; Seletar Expressway (SLE) and Tampines Expressway (TPE) to the south; Sungei Punggol to the east; Selat Johor to the northeast.

Yishun District covers an area of approximately 3,923 hectares, ranking 5th among the 27 districts. Yishun District housed an estimated population of 280,061 residents as of June 2017, ranking 5th among the 27 districts. Yishun District has a population density of 7,138/km².

Division
Yishun District comprises 1 New Town (Yishun New Town) and 3 Sub-Districts (Nee Soon Sub-District, Simpang Sub-District and Seletar Sub-District).

Yishun New Town is divided into 9 neighbourhoods, namely Yishun Neighbourhood 1, Yishun Neighbourhood 2, Yishun Neighbourhood 3, Yishun Neighbourhood 4, Yishun Neighbourhood 5, Yishun Neighbourhood 6, Yishun Neighbourhood 7, Yishun Neighbourhood 8 and Yishun Neighbourhood 9.

Nee Soon Sub-District contains 6 neighbourhoods, namely Nee Soon, Nee Soon Camp, Springleaf, Springside, Chencharu and Khatib.

Simpang Sub-District contains 9 neighbourhoods, namely Bah Soon Pah, Khatib Bongsu, Simpang South, Simpang East, Simpang Central, Simpang North, Simpang West, Tanjong Irau and Pulau Seletar.

Seletar Sub-District contains 12 neighbourhoods, namely Seletar Airport, Seletar Aerospace Park, Seletar East Camp, Piccadilly, Stonehills, Seletar Camp, Seletar East, Pulau Punggol Timor, Pulau Punggol Barat, Seletar Satellite, Seletar South and Lower Seletar Reservoir.

In total, Yishun District is sub-divided into 36 neighbourhoods.
