- Researcher / Urban Planner in-charged of formulating the Active Mobility guidelines for the “Tampines Liveability Blueprint 2018 Addendum”. Reviewed existing infrastructure (e.g. covered walkways, footpaths, cycling paths, bike parkings, barrier-free access etc.) to identify desired paths and gaps. Brainstormed and conceptualized design solutions to address gaps and improve the last quarter mile connectivity.
- Conducted a series of ground observations to audit and documented on-site conditions of connectivity, green & blue and community amenities in Tampines New Town. Conducted a series of community workshops, walking conversations and pop-up engagements to gather feedback from the residents.
- Reviewed and provided professional inputs to development projects proposed by government agencies and Tampines Town Council (e.g. Sungei Tampines ABC Waters, Tampines Park Connector upgrading, Walk2Ride, Neighbourhood Renewal Programme Batches 6 to 10, Community Improvement Programme, Large-Scale Town-Wide proposals) to ensure better planning coordination and design aesthetics that optimized resources and meet the needs of Tampines residents.
- Involved in an inter-agency workgroup with MND, HDB, URA, NParks, LTA, PUB, PA and SLA to review existing policies and formulate new framework on local planning.
- Collaborated closely with Members of Parliament for Tampines GRC, Tampines Town Council, government agencies (MCCY, MOH, PMO, PA, URA, HDB, LTA, PUB, NParks, HPB, SPORT), service providers, grassroot leaders and the community.
- Designed and conducted several walking and cycling Learning Journeys to showcase CLC’s research and works completed in the “Tampines Liveability Blueprint”.
- Published the “Tampines Liveability Blueprint 2018 Addendum”, which was presented to Minister Heng Swee Keat and Prof Jan Gehl in July 2018.

- Represented CLC in a 3-day workshop with Fellow Michael Koh, Prof Heng Chye Kiang, Prof Fung John Chye and the Urban Planners of Thimphu Thromde.
- Brainstormed and formulated the draft structure plan, pedestrianization guidelines and a set of urban design recommendations for the rejuvenation of Norzin Lam. Recommendations were accepted by the Thimphu Thromde and works were under construction.
- Wrote and published the “Pedestrianization of Norzin Lam” report, which was presented to the Thimphu Thromde, MFA and Temasek Foundation Connects in January 2018.
- Wrote the “Taking a stroll along Norzin Lam” article, which was published in CLC’s monthly newsletter “Better Cities”.
- Conducted in-depth research and documentation of developments with successful urban design features and best practices in Singapore Central Area.
- Drafted the “Singapore Urban Design Guidebook”, which introduced the 12 key urban design elements as fundamental urban planning and design principles. Process required extensive research, writing, designing the layout, sketching of plans and photographing of developments featured in the book.
- Designed the “Orchard Learning Journey”, which highlighted 10 developments with successful urban design innovations along Orchard Road.

Manager (Programme Curator for World Cities Summit 2018)

- Curated the programme for 8 thematic track sessions, Mayors Forum, WCS Plenary and 38 Co-Located Events.
- Drafted the WCS 2018 Programme Planning Paper, which outlined the theme and synopsis of the sessions. The process involved intensive research on urban issues and cities around the world to shortlist suitable mayors for case studies presentations.
- Invited and managed 9 moderators (e.g. Henk Ovink, Michael Berkowitz, Prof Marilyn Taylor etc.) and 50 speakers (e.g. Prof Jan Gehl, Ahmed Aboutaleb, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Dr Cheong Koon Hean, Dr Eric Chu, Marvin Rees, Soichiro Takashima, Dr Liu Thai Ker etc.) for the 8 thematic track sessions and WCS Plenary. This include preparation of Speaker/Moderator Guide and Session Admin Notes; facilitated discussions among the panel and hospitality management.
- 89% of participants rated the WCS 2018 thematic track sessions as ‘Very Satisfied’ or ‘Satisfied’.
- Worked closely with MFA, NEA, PUB and event organizer counterparts to invite 374 High-Level Ministers from the urban sector across all continents to attend WCS 2018.
- Hosted 144 urban sector Ministers from 56 countries/regions for WCS 2018 [30% growth from WCS 2016].
- Staffed MOS/ND for the WCS 2018 Exclusive Networking Event.

- Curated and managed the programme for 19th, 20th, 23rd and 24th City EXCEL. These 4 runs scored an average rating of 4.4, which exceeded CSC’s benchmark of 4.2.
- Increased enrolment for City EXCEL by 203.6% [from 197 participants in 2016 to 401 participants in 2017].
- Coordinated programme logistics for 10th EDGE; in particular for the study trip to Tokyo, Yokohama and Seoul. 10th EDGE scored a rating of 4.72, which exceeded CSC’s benchmark of 4.2.
- Organized Learning Journeys and coordinated programme logistics for 5th TFILUGP. 5th TFILUGP scored a rating of 4.71, which was the best performing TFILUGP to date.
- Staffed ED/CLC by preparing presentation slides, drafting speeches and coordinating administrative logistics for the 8th ASEAN Connectivity Symposium 2017 and “The Role of a Project Leader – Strategic Project Planning” lectures.
