20¢ ride is an excerpt from a series of black & white photograph titled "Hougang Ou Kio". This series preserves some final memories of Block 3, 4, 8 – 14 Hougang Avenue 7. Throughout its existence, the precinct has strong nostalgic ties with my extended family.
These black & white photographs are shot using 35mm negative films; developed and process by myself.

Geography
Hougang District is located approximately 9km northeast of the City in the Northeast Sub-Region, East Region.
Hougang District is bounded by Upper Paya Lebar Road, Upper Serangoon Road, Yio Chu Kang Road and Sungei Punggol to the west; Buangkok Drive to the north; Sungei Serangoon, Tampines Road and the eastern perimeter of Paya Lebar Air Base to the east; the southern perimeter of Paya Lebar Air Base and Airport Road to the south.
Hougang District covers an area of approximately 1,996 hectares, ranking 10th among the 27 districts. Hougang District housed an estimated population of 276,639 residents as of June 2017, ranking 6th among the 27 districts. Hougang District has a population density of 13,857/km².

Division
Hougang District comprises 1 New Town (Hougang New Town) and 5 Estates (Kovan Estate, Tai Keng Estate, Defu Industrial Estate, Tai Seng Industrial Estate and Kim Chuan Industrial Estate).
Hougang New Town is divided into 9 neighbourhoods, namely Hougang Neighbourhood 1, Hougang Neighbourhood 2, Hougang Neighbourhood 3, Hougang Neighbourhood 4, Hougang Neighbourhood 5, Hougang Neighbourhood 6, Hougang Neighbourhood 7, Hougang Neighbourhood 8 and Hougang Neighbourhood 9.
Kovan Estate contains 5 neighbourhoods, namely Chia Keng, Lim Ah Pin, Rosyth, Charlton and Tai Peng.
Tai Keng Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Tai Keng).
Defu Industrial Estate contains 3 neighbourhoods, namely Defu North, Defu Central and Defu South.
Tai Seng Industrial Estate contains 1 neighbourhood (Tai Seng Industrial).
Kim Chuan Industrial Estate contains 2 neighbourhoods, namely Kim Chuan East and Kim Chuan West.
Hougang District also includes 2 Infrastructures, namely Paya Lebar Air Base and Woodbridge.
In total, Hougang District is sub-divided into 23 neighbourhoods.
